Description |
Ceremonial rattle could be an animal horn containing small rocks or very hard seeds. Ends are enclosed with pieces of leather wrapped on with a leather thong. Top has a piece of soft, light brown fur wrapped around stick protruding through horn. Stick below head is wrapped with a red/brown leather strap. Two inches below head a second wrapping of yellow wrapping extends 1 ½ ", has a loose end that has 4 large beads and a feather attached. 2 ½ " below yellow wrapping is a 1 ½ " band of strung beads of no design. Attached above and below beads isa strip of fur similar to the one on top of the rattle head. Stick extends 8" below beads and ends with a tuft of horse hair secured with a wrapping of leathe strap.. |
